v.wald I've been following T.G. Olson's music for a few years now. He's one of my favorites to listen to while writing and just thinking about how the world should be a simpler place. Yet another fantastic release. Favorite track: Trying to Take It All In.

about

This album was handmade from scratch during one rainy week in October 2017. All songs were written new on the spot and recorded one by one until 33:32 minutes had been laid to bare to tape. On the 7th day the sun emerged only to be engulfed again by the haze as post production commenced.

For Breezy... see ya on the other side.

Track Name: On a High Like a Mountain
On the back of a horse limping through town. Biting the reins. Will you sell me the truth? Pennies on the dollar for what little remains. Will you look in my eyes? Show me your heart. Slowly it beats. On a high like a mountain. The air is thin and clean. On a high like a mountain. The blue and the grey and the green. On a high like a mountain. On the back of a horse rising and falling down rocky ravines. You out in the lead fearless and strong. Sure at the seems. Looking over the ledge. Feeling so small. Apart of it all. On a high like a mountain. The air is thin and clean. On a high like a mountain. The blue and the grey and the green. On a high like a mountain. Flying up like a bird where the white clouds cover the peaks. Did you carry the truth? Pulled from the jaws of defeat. The work burning likes flames. Calling out flames. A torch in the night. On the back of a horse stumble through dust. Heavy with age.
Track Name: The Old Brigade
We fought together in the old brigade. In a war that lost it's meaning. It lost it's name. The cost was more grave. Don't look back in shame on our time in the old brigade. Sitting in silent reflection with a medal of quiet redemption. Is there redemption when the cost is more than great? There's no unliving the days fighting in the old brigade. We died together in the old brigade in a war that lost it's meaning. It lost it's name. Fighting in the old brigade. Was it all for nothing? Was it all in vain? We killed each other in the old brigade. For king and queen and god and a family name. Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Sons, and Daughters. We all hurt and bleed just the same. All the same. We fought one another in the old brigade. In a war that lost it's name. It lost it's meaning. It lost it's name. We died together in the old brigade. The reasons have faded with age. They faded with age. The battle still rages. It lost it's name. Life is never the same in the wake of the old brigade. So the battle still rages. It lost it's meaning and it's name. It lost it's name. We fought together in the old brigade. We died together in the old brigade. For a war that lost it's meaning. It lost it's name.
Track Name: A Constant Companion
The days and months and years after you gave something your all. It's a long ways down from standing tall to lying on the humble ground. We're always rebuilding. Wears your strongarm out and grinds your gears down. The bottom falls out. Rising up again. Patience is wearing so thin. They say we'll meet in the hereafter. Just call on the redeemer. Call on the redeemer whatever it is you're after. They say their is forever. They say there is no future. A long way traveling alone into the unknown. I'll be a forever companion if you don't wanna walk it alone. Build a chamber like Tutankhamun. Falling into forever so slow. The days and months and years after I'll be a constant companion. We all need a constant companion.
Track Name: Time Flies By and By
No one can know where time goes when it flies by and by. When it flies by and by. Painted memories of a better half of mine. In retrospect always looking back on life. No one can know where time goes. No one can know where time goes. Where time goes when it flies by and by. When it flies by and by. If you're out there restless, searching, show me a sign. No one can know where time goes when it flies by and by. When it flies by and by. Out of sight not out of mind. Not out of mind. So it goes the colors true show. They're bleeding through.
Track Name: Trying to Take It All In
Growing impatient for changing. First must come the fall. Waiting patient for Wintertime and sweet Spring's thaw. Oh the first rays of Summer bright breathe life on my skin. Fills the land with so much life. Lying in the grass trying to take it all in. Don't have a clue where to begin. In the dog days lights fading fast. Heats wearing thin on your nerves. Colors changing the landscape. Reflecting back trying to take it all in. Looking back on the years past. Spinning in my head trying to take it all in. Time heals the wound if the body is willing. Who is willing? The old weathered rocks of the temple are speaking. Who is listening? Time heals the wound if the body is willing. willing. Time heals the ground if everybody is willing. There can be no question. Steps are small in changing but forward we march. Waiting patient for Wintertime and the sweet breath of Spring. First rays of Summer bright. Lying on my back trying to take it all in.
Track Name: New Resistance Blues
Giving up on giving away my time to an end that pays me no satisfied time. Giving up on giving on my time. Don't ask for forgiveness. The act of existence and resistance. Giving up on giving away the light. To and end that pays your peace of mind. Don't ask for forgiveness. The act of existence and righteous resistance. Resistance a violent existence. Filling the holes fast as we dig. Existence a violent resistance. Filling the holes fast as we dig. Stomping four on the floor steady and strong all through the night. Waking up from a dream all was revealed hiding in plain sight. Don't ask for forgiveness. The act of existence is always resistance. Resistance a violent existence. Filling the holes fast as we dig. Existence a violent resistance. We're digging the holes fast as we can and filling the holes fast as we dig.
Track Name: The Ur-Plant
As the legends grow names all change pieces remain. Broken shards in the dirt to the written word and the tangled webs we spin. Sundown staring down the horizon line fading out. Fading out. Sundown staring down the horizon line. Fading out into darker times. The city sleeps and the countryside comes to life to survive. Sundown staring down the horizon line fading out into darker times. Sundown staring down the horizon line. Chasing down mentions of your appearance. Finding nothing but the smallest traces. Living on the word of strangers. Chasing down rumors of your existence. There is hope in the smallest piece. Sundown staring down the horizon line fading out. Into darker times. Broken shards in the dirt and the written word.
